A selection of photographs I took at Enes Hakan Tokyay’s installation exhibition “Only Names Are Changing / Renamed” at the Historic Sirkeci Train Station as part of the 3rd Yeditepe Biennial in Istanbul.
This exhibition takes us into the heart of the war in Palestine, into the ruined rooms of a bombed-out house.
The ceiling has collapsed, the walls are shattered. But the real collapse is hidden in the names carved into those walls.
They are all Palestinian children who have been martyred…
They were once children who ran around this house, their laughter echoing through it.
Now only their names remain.
Sometimes an installation is not just art, but a silenced scream.
That scream echoes here, in this room.
